A very thin and sticky clayey mud covered the floor of some rooms of this underground refuge located in the vicinity of Valençay, to such an extent that it was difficult to move inside the cavity and, once we sat down, it was very difficult to stand up. While cleaning the equipment, we discovered that our compass was out of order, frosted by the friction of thin clayey particles; region of Châteauroux (France), May 1990.
