The pumping was started during the previous days and was continued through the morning. It had lowered the water level so that we could try to explore this tunnel dug under a church. For safety reasons we stopped the pump during our visit, and the inexorable water upwelling limited the time spent in the corridor beyond the flooded area; region of Niort (France), September 2014.
