The lower level of the César Manrique home and studio includes five “volcanic bubbles”. These volcanic caves could be blister caves which are ancient gas pockets trapped within a fluid lava flow. During the cooling of the lava, the magma crystalized creating magmatic walls which delimited the spherical cavity. The skylight results from the burst of the bubble or from the collapse of the cave roof; Fundación César Manrique, Tahíche (Lanzarote, Canary Islands).
